PT Media

So I am excited to announce that I am working on a project to build PT Media, which will be a photography and video business. I have not yet figure out the strategic side of it but as far as selling and marketing, that will be taken care of very soon.

So the business is run by me and Tj Clark, one of my good friends that is pursuing to be a well-known person in the media and entertainment industry. We talked about it and we want to use our talents and skills to create a business, make money, and benefit our clients. Our decision is to do it, hence the name "PT" or Pier and Tj Media.

Respect

After this week, I noticed that there is something I need to change about myself. I did not realize but I really am going to have to change somethings about me. I really just can't take being disrespected anymore.

Someone wise once told me,

"You do not deserve respect automatically. You have to earn it."

After acknowledging that, I looked at my priorities and what kind of person I am. I am very very nice person and very very friendly. But is that a weakness or something? Do people take that for granted and think I am not a serious type person?

Sometimes I feel like people just run over me because they can, and that has happen to me back in my younger years in school. After graduating, I thought I had everything and that everything was okay after I got out of that hell-hole high school of mine. But it's not... not yet...

I was very disrespected today. I was doing a presentation that was very meaningful and that it would be interesting to my listeners and they can learned from it. It did not go my way at all. During my presentation, I just stood there, waiting for everyone to be quiet when I got the attention and the floor. While I was presenting, it was hard trying to get everyones attention.

If someone is presenting, I will be very courteous to the presenter and give them my full attention. Not talk over me, laugh, and not make eye contact. This experience compared to my other professional experience does not equal at all. In fact, I feel like my kindness is taken for weakness.

I decided to NOT IMPROVE but CHANGE something about myself. I feel like I should not be the person I use to, especially when sometimes I feel disrespected or something is out of order. In order to GET RESPECT, you are GOING TO HAVE TO EARN IT.

I did not get the respect I wanted today. So for here on in, I am gonna be something I wish I wasn't because it is not who I am. But if it beats less disrespecting and just anger coming out that, then so be it.

I use to wonder why some people were mean at first, but when you got to know them you become to like them more. Maybe because if I thought that person was too nice, I would not have taken them really seriously.

SO I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS!!! 

I AM A PANGAEABYLENA MODEL!!! =)

I found out this at 1am in the morning haha!!

So I am excited to start working with Lena, the CEO and founder of this amazing business "Pangaeabylena." I basically went to the casting call this past Saturday and I just remember at first Phil and I were lost trying to find the place!! lol

We turned around so much trying to find the place that we almost spent a portion on gas but we finally found it!! Also my bro Chris was with me cause I feel he would be so good at modeling but he is just straight up busy busy busy.

As soon as we made it to the place, we sat down and filled out some info. applications and waited for the interview. I practically am almost a master at interviewing; that's if I prepare before hand. So I didn't prepare for this one which I wish I did because I know I could of done better. Of course they ask you the simple questions: "Tell me about yourself, why do you want to be this or do that, etc." We also had to do a little walk for them.

So during and after the interview, my thoughts come together. So this sounds very serious and it sounds like it's for serious models. I love modeling and I have my up's and down's with it but my top priority is to graduate from college first, then do the modeling and such.

So I am gonna make it out that school is first, like it or not, and if I have any time I will use it for modeling. I know I can be a great representative to any business or agency but time is money, and I do not have a lot of it to spare. I just hope I can balance this school and work; something everyone should take in consideration with me.

Things that I hope to accomplish with this:

1. Gain more modeling experience
2. Gain more model work and networking
3. Have a modeling portfolio and more pictures
4. Network with photographers
5. Get behind the camera information

Why I want to sing and be a role model

Today was a very interesting day. I ran into my old boss Jolie (I love her), and we were talking about where I am at now and what are my plans. I told her I wanted to be singer more then anything that has to do with my degree.

So in her response, she asked me why? 

I said because I have a great passion in singing and I love writing songs. Also I want to be a positive role-model.

Then she asked me, what is your target audience?

I replied, "the younger generation. Mainly because I had a rough childhood and a difficult background that I wanted to relay the message that I got through it all. So if I can do it then you can to."

Then she goes, "if you do reach out to the younger generation, can you give them one message? That is to find self-entitlement."

So I've been trying to figure out what "self-entitlement" and it basically means when someone thinks they are self-entitled, that means they feel they deserve something without working hard or actually really earning it.

I understood her point she was making but it was really hard to accept. She said my generation tends to feel "self-entitled" because of the generation past lets us; meaning they did less discipline to their children and cared more about them.

SOMETHING I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!!!

I will be super duper honest about this. When I hear something about "how hard it is to find a job," it really isn't hard for me. You know why?? Because I depend on my color and affirmative action. Not only that but I feel self-entitled to get the job lol. <----People might be mad to read this

So... after careful thought about what a wise person said and about myself, I have kinda changed my views and my path.

Now instead of actually encouraging people, I decided to be REAL... I gave up trying the NICE APPROACHABLE WAY. I think it's better for me to be real and say what I need to say, without sugar coating or covering it up.

I rather prepare someone and say it as it is, and how cold the world can be and that you have to work hard to get what you want and earn. I use to think it's better to be a little bit subjunctive and less realistic but now I see that. I guess it's part of growing up and actually taking responsibility and working hard instead of depending 

Now how to get noticed??

Xiaxue aka Wendy Cheng

Hmm... so I did some searching and trying to figure out how to get noticed. Like for instance, there is a famous blogger named Xiaxue, which her real name is Wendy Cheng. She is famous for being known as the "Blog Queen."

Wtf?? So I'm like okay... I guess that's somewhat a talent but man when I googled her I was impress; impress till wikipedia posted something negative about her. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaxue

So anywho, Xiaxue is good on my list and who could blame her. She is good at what she does. Hopefully she won't say anything negative about me when she finds this blog :D lol "We love you Xiaxue."

Moving on, does anyone know about Tila Tequila? You know, the one that had her own show called the "Shot of Love" on Mtv back in 2008 I believe. She is also known as the queen of myspace!!

So back to what I was saying. I think one of the biggest way I am gonna have to get noticed is to figure out what talent I want to focus on; that is singing of course. Youtube is a great way. I was hoping to get some learnable feedback, but instead got more. I got some negative ones to haha!! What was really funny was I knew that was a bad video but I dont need a second party to tell me that.

1st Place Winner in the Arkansas Honors Event

For the first time in my life, I actually feel the recognition I deserve for modeling. During Sunday night's event during my showcase, I won First Place in the Modeling Division and I was so happy. I was awarded the Platinum award trophy as you can see to the right for winning and it felt great.

Though I wish I could of sung that night but I was just too nervous. I remember (4) hours before the show started, we were have practice rehearsal for the last time. One thing I was not aware about this practice was that we were suppose to bring a 1-minute piece of a different song and sing it as were we auditioning.


I did not know we had to do that and I just thought of a song in the last minute. It was called "Heaven" and I failed at singing it. I was so nervous because it was a big stage and the light was so bright in my face. I was a little bit disappointed that I could not sing that night. Maybe next time.

Any who, as you can see in the right picture where you see my agent Ms. S'cie Ward, Kathy, and the overall contestant winner Nadia Penn. I was glad that I saw a star rising before me and she has talent. I just need to hurry up and improve myself before I get freaking old lol.

The just was just amazing. All that hard work we put in it. To be honest, I felt like it was a little bit disorganized but that's OKAY!! Because that's how the business is and that is something my agent would have told me. "This business is very unexpected."
